The Niagara River conditions are muddy once again! The strongs SW winds that we keep getting hammered with are taking there toll on Lake Erie! Having said that, conditions are near perfect if you want to target big walleye but not looking good today for steelhead! Winds for today of SW 40- gusting to 60 at times.When the winds stop, Lake Trout and Brown trout fishing at the Niagara Bar will still be a option dispite the muddy water.

Weekend conditons were perfect! Classic steelhead green in colour, no ice, good fishing! Strong SW Winds on Monday turned up Lake Erie again and by late Monday afternoon the river was toast. Monday evening the winds shifted to the North which is good....conditions on the lower river yesterday were less then one foot and brown/green. The upper river has already cleared up nicely with the North winds and the lower should be prime again today or tomorrow! Upper conditions last night were 2+ feet of vis and green.

Another dose of heavy winds have really made a mess of Lake Erie and the Niagara River. Current conditions are very muddy with less then one foot of visibility. Here is a picture from today of the upper Niagara River. Waves reached 10+ feet during that last storm and really turned things up on the lake. With No Ice yet on Lake Erie, looks like this will be the pattern for the time being. Don't wait for clear water to go fishing because it may not happen for some time. After a few days of consistent stained water fishing will pick up again.  Check back for updates...
